LECBA Board Meeting
Monday, November 9, 2009 The meeting was called to order by Pres. Rick Unger at 6:25 PM at the Island House Restaurant. Members present: Jerry Abele, Steve Connor, Ron Eickholt, Charlie Eulitt, Jeff Goehring, Mike Karhoff, Don Lowther, Chris Moore, Paul Pacholski, Pete Scheid, Barry Witt, Bob Witt, Dave Whitt, Rick Unger Guests present: Bob Haynor, Teddy Miller, Jason Sarver, Theresa Behrends, Mel Fenger, Ronald Lamont, Sandee Abele, Eric Gahn Motion made by Mike Karhoff to approve October minutes. Seconded by Chris Moore. Passed by the Board. Treasurer’s Report given by Don Lowther. Motion to approve report by Paul Pacholski. Seconded by Dave Whitt. Passed by the Board. President’s Report:
President Unger passed a sample election ballot to the members to check for errors and additions. Ballots will be mailed to active captains in the next week. All ballots must be returned by Saturday, December 12, 2009 in order to be considered valid.
Website update: President Unger met with Bob Collins and transferred all related items (.org, .net, .com) to his name. The new website should be up and running any day. The old site will be archived for future use. Brief discussion concerning the use of Pay Pal for dues membership and if it is worth it. Don Lowther will look in to changing several of the features of the program. We also need to get it connected to the new website. President Unger read a letter from Jack Tibbels about closing the fishing season in the early spring. Once again the LECBA will not support him on this issue. Paul Pachoski reported on his meeting with Marcy Kaptur. Funding is currently an issue and we are in need of sponsors. She is on board with his ideas and is going to check into them more. Ray Petering is also backing Paul and is projects. He has requested a meeting with the Senator. Canadian Fishing Licenses will not be available online for this fishing season. You should be able to purchase a one-day/same day license online in 2011. President Unger is waiting on a phone call to get more information about the possibility of purchasing a one day/same day licenses on the US side for this upcoming season. More information should be available at the December meeting. Motion made by Dave Whitt to sponsor a child at the 4-H Sea Camp in honor of past LECBA member Bart Blaha who recently passed away. Approximate cost would be around $400. Motion seconded by Paul Pacholski. Passed by the Board. Ohio Outdoor News subscriptions will be renewed in January for all current members. Any nominations for the Captain of the Year should be submitted by Sat. December 12, 2009. Next meeting will be held at Wild Wings on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 6:00 PM Motion to adjourn made at 8:00 PM by Charlie Eulitt. Seconded by Mike Karhoff.
